[Sigh] Blogging? It's been really hard for me to do for the past couple of weeks. The election kind of left me feeling down and out and for a lot of reasons coming to vent about it on my website just seemed so god-damned trite.
Not that there haven't been tons of things to report on. There have been plenty, in fact:
- I've started doing freelance design work again and recently finished a site for a music store in Franklin, IN that I'm pretty proud of.
- Ellie got her first "professional haircut" - I'll have to post a picture later, as all the more recent pics are at home. UPDATE: See picture above.
- We broke Ellie of her Nuk dependency and her vocabulary shot through the roof. This has got to be the absolute cutest phase of childhood. I can't imagine it being any better than this. We'll see.
- Sarah is beginning to show her pregnancy and is engaged in a daily struggle to find a new way to wear the 6 pieces of pregnancy clothes she owns, none of which she finds at all (in her own words) flattering.
- I put a stop to the massive amount of comment spam I was getting by simply renaming my mt-comments.cgi file (are you listening, Jib?) and installing Mt-Blacklist. If you think you're safe because you use Blogger, et al, it's just a matter of time before these spammer scumbags target all the other comment systems, too.
Believe me, I know just how lame this place has been for the past little while and I want to say that 2005 promises big changes. Huge, in fact:
- Full-blown gallery dating back to 1974! (but mostly 1999-Present).
- A shift in topics from being less personal and more professional (i.e. Web Design/Development).
- The ongoing practice to become a better writer and designer.
- Possibly moving the blog off this domain and to someplace less visible to potential customers - I've already procured the domain name.
